Tyranny Has A Face In The House of Representatives

The American people want Congress to find some solution as to how they, our representatives, can help lessen the burden at the gas pump, but Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have turned a deaf ear to the American people. Nancy Pelosi knows that if she were to allow a vote in the House for off-shore oil drilling that it would pass, because while Pelosi has long since forsaken her promise of bipartisan leadership other Democrats on Capital Hill are willing to work with Republicans in order to help the American people, but because Pelosi has so many of the Democrats in her pocket she is allowed to run the House of Representatives in such a fascist manner. Perhaps she should change her title of Speaker of the House to Dictator of the House.

The American people are looking to congressional leaders for help, and the Democrats want to sit on their hands and do nothing, because they want the American people to suffer high energy and fuel prices for their own gain, but what are they going to do when this backfires? Conservative Republicans have chosen not to go on vacation, but instead want to come up with some solution that will help the American people. This phantom session is aimed at assuring the American people that while the Democrats do not care about the average American, there are Republicans who do. For the first time in some time I can say that I am proud of House Republicans. Pelosi of course turned the lights off on the Republicans as well as the mics and cameras, but this has not deterred the representatives who have shown that they want to help the people of this country from staying, discussing, and debating possible solutions that will help us not only gain energy independence, but lower the price of a gallon of gasoline at the pump.

According to an article released by the Politico, House GOP leaders have vowed to stay and protest as long as it takes. They will continue to hold this phantom session until Nancy Pelosi agrees to have a vote on domestic oil-drilling. Americans are angry, and they are angry at the “Do-Nothing Congress” that this Democratic controlled Congress has become. Americans are tired of high gas prices, seeing the price of a barrel of oil rise every day, and watching energy prices soar through the roof, because Democrats on Capital Hill do not want to help them. Is there any wonder why the approval rating of Congress is lower than it ever was when the Republicans were the controlling party? Most Americans are tired of President Bush, and it is because of this that Obama has a good chance of wining the presidential election, but come 2010 many Democrats may find themselves losing their seats to Republican opponents, because they didn’t want to help millions of suffering Americans.

I encourage you to support the phantom session that House Republicans are holding in protest of Dictator … I mean Speaker Pelosi. Email your Representative today and tell them that you want something done about oil prices, and you want something done now. Encourage your representatives to join current discussion and debate that is presently happening on the House floor this week, and possibly even next week. If by chance your representative is Democratic, be sure and ask them why they do not care about you or their other constituents, because they don’t.
